Twente drops to PSG with barely an effort
By: Tucker | December 19th, 2008Without a doubt, heading into the Twente – PSG UEFA Cup match, Steve McClaren chose to prioritize the “Tukkers” domestic run and put out a less-than top-flight effort. Even to say it is a “less than” one-hundred per-cent effort because with both Kenneth Perez and Blaise Kufo on the bench it is obvious that the 4-0 loss to PSG should have an asterisk beside it.
However in a very general re-cap, PSG took the lead eight minutes after the start as Péguy Luyindula was in free and gave PSG the lead. Stéphane Sessegnon added the second at the twenty-third minute set-up from Mateja Kežman to make it 2-0. While Twente went forward after the break, they couldn’t get back into match and at the eighty-fourth minute Kežman made it 3-0, followed upon with Péguy Luyindula second of the night two minutes later.
As far a losses goes, it is obvious the domestic race was not going to be threatened for it and Twente supporters should not be worried with the result.
