Groningen next for De Tukkers

By: Tucker | December 13th, 2008

Since the 1-1 draw to Feyenoord Steve McClaren’s Twente are running wild in the Eredivisie with three consecutive victories, putting up a shocking fourteen goals. The experienced trio of Kenneth Perez, Blaise Kufo and Theo Janssen are virtually unstoppable and quite obviously after half a season have adjusted perfectly to the new managers regime. However with AZ and Ajax looking unstoppable the “Tukkers” must come out with full points. Twente is fully fit with only Andrej Rendla absent while Groningen will be without Evgeniy Levchencko, Sepp de Roover and Jeroen Veldmate to injury as well as Berry Powel who is suspended with internal disciplinary action. Although Groningen comes into the match following three successive defeats, they are additionally one of the best teams in the Eredivisie with only one loss in seven matches and have given up only three goals. Following their 2-0 loss to AZ and second-half collapse losing to PSV 4-2, they will be anxious to set their course straight in front of their supporters.

Please drop by during the match if you want to talk about it. Off to the training grounds myself now but I’ll be back before the start
